Tried it for a month. With some struggle, it worked to get an IP in Holland, as long as you didn’t need any speed and didn’t mind trying a few times different servers.
Tonget an UK IP address was horrible. Most servers you cannot even connect to. If one works, it works for 5 minutes and then gives up.
I haven’t tried support, not worth the hassle, so I gave them three stars there just because I do not know … but For the rest… This is overpriced crap.
I will just say this stright away.
This VPN Provider is the worst but still almost the most known but still the WORST.
I don’t get why people are staying with this company, It’s always slow and terrible speed.
I’ve tried these twice now, with old ISP and with new ISP, different speed and different connection and different computers and devices and different protocols still the same crappy speed.
The speed i was trying with was 30mbps, 100mbps, and 500mbps but all i was getting from 0,50mbps up to 2,5mbps (MAX)
This is ofcourse not worth paying such much for such bad service.
One of my ISP were using Optics connection (No Modem) which means the fastest connection available to a normal person ” Not a company ” the other one were using Cable (Modem) both did got same slow speed, so this is something terrible with their (HideMyAss) service gosh.
To be honest i’ve never seen a VPN provider worse than this one.
So i’m saying this: STAY AWAY FROM ” HideMyAss ”
I’ve tried other services and they are ofcourse better than HideMyAss.
So i repeat, HideMyAss is just no good, STAY AWAY FROM THEM, i wanted to give them a try but what i was just doing was wasting my money because they didn’t wanted to refund.
I don’t see any professional over this company at all.
This provider is terrible! I had issues with my laptop connecting to wi fi at my college- came up as limited and no matter what I did, I could not connect. When at home, on my wireless, it was fine, even when I was logged out. But when out and about- nothing. When I uninstalled, everything was fine and had no issues. But by this time I had paid for a year, thinking it would work.
I contacted them about a refund and was told that I had used over the 10 GB of bandwidth. Supposedly I had nearly 17 GB. I only had their software for day and only used it a handful of times! I uninstalled it the same day I had paid for it.
I have yet to recieve my refund and would like to warn those that are looking for this kind of thing not to go for it. Not worth the hassel!
Absolute worst customer service ever. They auto renewed my account before my first subscription was up so I got stuck with another year because after countless emails was still nowhere. They’ve now permanently suspended my account without warning because of a file sharing complaint on something that I never even downloaded. A company run by dishonest thieves.
We`ve been using hide my ass for years and absolutely love it. When we were in spain, we were use it to watch TV shows from the UK. We had it installed on our router so every one in the house can use it to access blocked websites.

Nothing like Hotspot Shield ELite its a paid version. Speed was amazing and u got a dedicated IP inspite of shared ip which hidemyass provide to the members he dont have dedicated ip on its own VPN.

Today 13 Aug 2014 I signed up for a month’s service. A very difficult site to navigate. Did not install it and did not use it for any length of time. Asked for a refund, and was informed that because I had an account before, I was not entitled to another refund. All I can tell you is DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY. The service is poor, their customer “service” is non-existent, and they have no sense of what it takes to keep customers happy. As another customer commented below, this is one LOUSY company, and I as well want all prospective customers to beware and STAY AWAY from this company. When I mentioned that I was going to take my dispute to American Express, I was informed that their “legal stuff” would protect them. AWFUL website, AWFUL service, AWFUL company.
Fortunately I took a single month to test them, speeds are VERY poor, no response to emails and not surprising no response to my request for a refund.
Iswitched to purevpn, superb speeds, can install on 5 devices and live chat plus quick response to emails.
DO NOT waste your money on HMA, worst VPN ever.
I wish I had read these reviews before I bought HMA. I bought their router and then paid for a year subscription in good faith and no matter how hard I tried, even with the help of 2 IT guys, I could not get this to work. Of course when I asked for a refund just 10 days later the answer was NO.
I don’t usually waste my time with reviews but this is one lousy company and I want to let as many people as possible know not to buy it
Can’t give them ZERO stars! Their software DOES NOT WORK! it explodes and leaves you unprotected. Lets just say I have PROOF that the service does not hide you!
Garbage service, I wanted to get a VPN in Finland, and the service did not work at all. Absolute waste of my money, do not use this provider!!
